Travel report (Sapna)
I had the opportunity to spend one month in Christian Gross’ group at the University of Tubingen thanks to the ASPIRE joint program between Japan and Germany on cold atoms physics.
I joined the Potassium team working on trapping potassium atom in tweezer arrays and making some Rydberg excitations and interactions. I spent a really pleasant time in the lab and doing some simulations on pair interactions between two kicker games. I am grateful to Christian who let me join his group and all the students in particular Shuanghong, Philip, Fabio, Max and Jule who helped me during my stay.

I could also experiment some German culture and enjoy the lovely city of Tubingen. I had the chance to ride on a traditional stocherkahn boat on the Neckar River, thanks to my lab mates Moritz and Jule, and to see the mythic annual students boat race. For Japanese visitors who might miss Japan, I would definitely recommend visiting the botanical garden near the physics building that holds cute Japanese plants and flowers! I also had the opportunity to visit the neighboring cities such as Stuttgart and go back to Paris during the weekend.
In addition, I combined this one month visit with a conference, CATMIN IV in Spain, where I met researchers from the cold atoms community and got some insight of the recent progress.

I hope to see some of my German mates in November during the ASPIRE workshop in Japan this time!
Thank you so much Sylvain, Christian, the travel team and the ASPIRE program in general for this amazing experience!
